VOLUNTEER

FAMILY SERVICES COMMITTEE

Committee Member Role
To support the affiliate in selecting partner families in accordance with Habitat for Humanity Northumberland’s program guidelines. The committee evaluates applications with the Family Services Manager and makes recommendations to the Executive Director for Partner Families.

Requirements:

  • Ability to ensure the confidentiality of applicants and projects

  • Submit a vulnerable sector police check annually

  • Understanding of the housing climate and housing continuum within Northumberland County

  • Ability to facilitate the process of objective decision making

THINK tiny HOMES
NORTHUMBERLAND 

WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS! Do you have experience in architecture, planning, building, real estate, fundraising, law, and policy development? If you are interested in volunteering with Think Tiny Homes Northumberland, we would love to hear from you! TTHN committee members commit 3 to 5 hours per month to build Northumberland County’s first tiny home microvillage.

Habitat for Humanity Northumberland is seeking experienced individuals to serve on our Board of Directors and on our Operating Committees.

 

As a member of the Board or its Committees, an individual acts in a position of trust for the community and is responsible for the effective governance and leadership of our organization in helping to build simple, decent, affordable homes for families in Northumberland County.

We are welcoming applications from candidates who can exhibit the following:

Skill in the following areas:

  • Marketing

  • Finance

  • Construction

  • Property Managment

  • Human Resources

  • Law 

  • Interest in improving the community

  • Willingness to serve on committees

  • Willingness to support sepcial events

  • Ability to commit time to Habitat

  • Ability to attend monthly meeting
