Affiliate Program Assistant 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Work Week:                      Casual Part-time 15-20 hrs/week. May be required to work up to 32 hrs/weekweekends & evenings will be required

Location:                           764 Division St., Cobourg ON  K9A 5V2 (this is not a remote position)

JOB SUMMARY:

Habitat for Humanity Northumberland (HFHN) is seeking an Affiliate Program Assistant to support the Manager of Housing Partnerships to implement administration of the homeownership program. Specifically, the position will be responsible for interfacing with applicants, and reviewing applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the community organizations and programs available in Northumberland County.  

 

This position will also be responsible for supporting the Community and Fund Development Coordinator in community and fundraising events, as well as interacting with volunteers to assist with the planning team build days. 

 

Finally, the position will also be responsible for implementing systems for tracking and reporting on the success of HFHN’s programs. 

 

Duties &  Responsibilities:

Affiliate Program Assistant will be responsible for the following: 

 

Homeownership Program Responsibilities: 

  • Provide excellent support to applicants to the homeownership program, always treating people with kindness and respect. Many of the individuals who are interested in applying to the homeownership program are not eligible at that time. We focus on having discussions and creating connections with folks when possible. This often includes linking them to other organizations or making general inquiries to learn more about community programs; 

  • Liaising with applicants to the homeownership program; 

  • Be familiar with application and mortgage policies and procedures; and 

  • Assist with or complete any other such projects or tasks as may be assigned by the Manager of Housing Partnerships from time to time. 

 

Community & Fund Development Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of community engagement and fundraising events; 

  • Assist with any other such activities or projects as may be assigned by the Community and Fund Development Coordinator; 

  • Update HFHN’s volunteer database as required; and 

  • Utilize HFHN’s CRM software. 

 

General Job Requirements: 

  • Work, as part of a cohesive team, to meet key performance indicators; 

  • Maintain all records in accordance with Habitat policies (including retention and confidentiality); 

  • Promote the mission and vision of Habitat for Humanity Northumberland; 

  • Must have valid drivers license and access to own vehicle. Mileage will be reimbursed in accordance to HFHN policy;

  • Follow all Health and Safety policies and procedures; and 

  • Work in a manner that is safe and respectful for self and all other employees and volunteers.  

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma;

  • Previous work experience in customer or client service considered an asset;

  • Must have a Working with others from a person-centered approach; 

  • Strong communication skills, with proven results; 

  • Technical competencies including Microsoft Office suite and Salesforce; 

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; 

  • A satisfactory Criminal Reference Check including a Vulnerable Sector Search;

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and 

  • Commitment to the mission of Habitat for Humanity Northumberland and representing that mission within the community.
