Did you know that on top of building houses and operating our ReStore, Habitat for Humanity Northumberland also has home renovation and repairs programs for low-moderate income folks?
Habitat for Humanity Northumberland has supported over 150+ households through the Home Repairs Suite. There is access to interest free loans, forgivable loans and grants. Funding is available for low-moderate income households to make urgent or necessary repairs to increase safety, accessibility, and efficiency of their homes.

ReNew It!
Interest free loan program, with terms ranging 3-7 years. ReNew It assists with home repairs ranging from roofs, furnaces, plumbing and electrical. Monthly interest free repayments are made after project completion.

Renovates

Forgivable loan program, funding projects up to $15,000. There is also a $5,000 accessibility grant as a part of the program as well. Projects range from structural, windows, doors, roofs, heating and plumbing, electrical and fire safety, mould remediation and accessibility modifications. No repayments required, loan forgiven over 10 years.

Maintains
Grant program, funding up to $2,500 towards accessibility modifications like medical beds, grab bars, ramps, railings. Can also support emergency situations to assist folks with remaining housed like paying for heating system repairs, propane or wood and connections to hydro. No payments required.
