Sunday Night Dinner in the ReStore returns with a French theme

Updated: Jun 13, 2023

On Sunday April 16th, the Habitat for Humanity Northumberland Cobourg ReStore will be transformed into a French courtyard for it’s annual Sunday Dinner in the ReStore. This is a casual dining fundraiser catered by Cobourg’s Prep Food Co. Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase materials to build Habitat homes in Northumberland County.

The evening commences at 5:30pm with signature cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a French themed plated dinner with wine and dessert, all included in the ticket price. Guests will see the ReStore transform for one night to a cozy courtyard, accommodating 100 guests arranged in rows of tables and chairs. They will be surrounded by furniture and products all donated to the ReStore and available for sale.

“The Sunday ReStore Dinner is all about slowing down. It’s a time to share and connect with our amazing community through a delicious meal in a warm and inviting atmosphere. This year we are celebrating our 25th anniversary and all those who helped to get us to this important milestone.” Executive Director Meaghan Macdonald emphasizes that although she is excited to gather, “we often we take for granted that a Sunday dinner in a home is a universal experience, but rather it is a privilege that not everyone can enjoy. And with the help of our community, we want to help to create the opportunity for experiences like this for more people in our community through our programming.”

This is the 3rd year Habitat has hosted the dinner and have raised over $20,000 towards build projects. This year they are hoping to raise $12,000 through ticket sales and sponsorship. Sponsors interested in participating in this event have several different opportunities to contribute. Dinner, wine and cocktail sponsors are available as well as those willing to donate to the silent auction. Tickets for the fundraiser are available on Habitat’s website at habitatnorthumberland.ca/dinner and are $125 per person and are limited to 100.
