A Message from our Board Chair
I am writing to you today with mixed emotions as we announce the resignation of our long serving Executive Director, Meaghan Macdonald. After over 15 years with Habitat, twelve as Executive Director, Meaghan has decided to step down from her role, marking an end of an era for Habitat for Humanity Northumberland.
Meaghan has been an invaluable part of Habitat for Humanity Northumberland, leading the organization with passion, and a dedication to providing home ownership opportunities to those in Northumberland County who might otherwise have been unable to attain this without Habitats support. Under her leadership, we have achieved numerous milestones, expanded our programs to include Home Repairs, Northumberland Renovates, developed innovations in building practices, and impacted the lives of many individuals in our community. During Meaghan’s tenure, she has brought together a team of committed individuals who share the Habitat values and Meaghan will continue to inspire us as we move forward.
We are grateful for Meaghan’s contributions and commitment to our organization. While Meaghan’s absence will be deeply felt, we wish her great success in her new challenges and are happy to see Meaghan expanding her horizons. We have no doubt that Meaghan’s passion for making the world a better place will continue to shine through wherever she goes.
As we embark on the journey to find a new executive director, we are committed to maintaining the high standards and vision set by Meaghan. We will keep you, our supporters, volunteers, and partners, informed as we progress through this transition. In the meantime, our dedicated team of staff and volunteers remain focused on our vision of a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.
We encourage you to join us in expressing gratitude and well wishes to Meaghan for her many years of service to the community.
