Northumberland County, ON —April 21, 2026 — Habitat for Humanity Northumberland is proud to announce the success of its annual Sunday Dinner in the ReStore, which raised an incredible $60,000 in support of building affordable housing in the community.

Held Sunday April 12th, the event transformed the Habitat ReStore from a retail space into a warm and welcoming dining venue, creating a truly memorable experience for guests. The evening exceeded expectations, bringing together community members, partners, and supporters in a meaningful reflection of Habitat for Humanity’s mission—bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

This year’s Dinner in the ReStore—now in its sixth year—marked a record-breaking milestone, raising the highest amount in the event’s history. The event, which consistently sells out within days, continues to demonstrate the strong support it receives from the community. “This incredible achievement speaks to the strength and generosity of our community,” said Cathy Borowec, CEO of Habitat Northumberland. “We were amazed at the response and deeply grateful for the support that continues to grow year after year.”

In addition to an engaging evening program, this year’s event featured special guest Pedro Barata, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Canada, and a moving address from Tom Jackson, Canadian actor, Companion to the Order of Canada and most importantly benevolent contributor to countless charities across the country. Their presence underscored the impact of the work being done locally and its connection to Habitat’s national mission, adding further inspiration to an already memorable night.

A special thank you goes to presenting sponsor Jacqueline Pennington Real Estate, whose leadership and commitment played a key role in making the event possible. Their support helped set the stage for an inspiring evening of generosity and connection.

Habitat Northumberland also extends heartfelt appreciation to all sponsors, attendees, and volunteers who contributed their time, energy, and resources to ensure the evening’s success. Their collective efforts brought the event to life and will have a lasting impact on families in need of safe, affordable housing. Funds raised from the Dinner in the ReStore will support current and future home builds, as well as critical home repair projects, helping more families access safe, affordable housing across Northumberland County.
